Which side of the Obama/Bush/Pelosi enhanced interrogation issue do you reside? I believe water boarding does not constitute torture. The enemies of free society gouge eyes and behead and we apply methods that are strictly regulated and monitored by doctors. We even use these same techniques for training our own soldiers. If there is an international law that says water boarding is illegal - that law is wrong. That law was probably initiated and championed with the intent to handcuff and diminish the strength of America..

Water boarding isn’t torture, it is enhanced interrogation and the progressive liberal left agenda needs to be ridiculed and diminished for their position on this issue - extinguished would be better.

That said…what is the Obama administration doing with this issue?

Recap..

(1) the debate on enhanced interrogation arrives. Who is driving this issue and what is their agenda?
(2) Obama originally indicates he does not support attacking the Bush Administration. The liberal media continues to pursue the issue none the less.
(3) the debate is divided into 2 parts, the Bush Policy/Actions and the memos and photo’s that support or deny these policies and actions. It is not terribly important to dwell on this, but technically by dividing the parts up like this the issue can be dragged out over time and presented at different levels. Dividing the issue up like this helps to keep things complicated and confusing, or it allows the liberal media the ability to try to make it this way, but mostly it spreads the issue out so that those component parts that are beneficial to the left can be discovered and exploited.
(4) the Obama administration attacks Bush by supporting the liberal media frenzy indicating that policies and actions should be formally investigated. This energizes the left and annoys the right and formally initiates the debate.
(5) the Obama administration recognizes the memo’s and releases there bits and parts as suits the liberal agenda, i.e., that which favors diminishing the Bush administration, and conversely, promotes the liberal agenda.
(6) the Obama administration recognizes the photo’s and indicates they intend to release them
(7) Pelosi lies about her knowledge of the water board policies and gets caught in a huge political storm.
(8) the Obama administration change their minds and decide not to release the photos, not sure what role Pelosi plays in this, if any.

These are the basic core component parts so far. But what exactly is Obama attempting to do?

Obama knows full well that supporting a government led interrogation of a prior administration is potentially very bad and doesn’t intend to follow through with it, not as a direct policy or political move anyway. He understands the backlash potential and political downsides if he energizes the political right by doing this. Obama doesn’t want to risk taking the hit for initiating an investigation of a prior administration should the process fail or the findings not work to his choosing. Obama wants to energize the left, ridicule the right and avoid taking any heat directly… and this fall nicely under Alinsky rule #1.

So the word is out, Obama wants to go after Bush. He doesn’t intend to keep it out. After a few days Obama changes his position and decides to pull back. What this does is it puts all the players on the field. Obama has tested the waters and gained valuable information by engaging the topic like this. He has fueled the left and gauged the right and this enables him to determine what he is up against and what he has to work with. Obama only supported the temporary release of the memo’s in order to gain the situation.

Obama recants his position of pursuing the Bush Administration. Damage done (started) information gained.

Now come the photo’s. Same game here, they are tossed out for discussion and eventually they are pulled back in, at least that is what appears to have happened. What really happened is Obama did not issue a Presidential Order or Determination. He issued a statement that leaves the door open for the courts to continue the proceedings. Obama hasn’t stopped the release of the photo’s, he only says he doesn’t support it, but he could stop the release if he wanted to. He just wants the record to show that he was against it when in reality I believe he fully hopes the photo’s are released - as long as he can escape responsibility.

So…. Obama has successfully supported the attack on the prior administration, tossed out the memo’s/photo’s for ridicule and exploitation and at the same time removed himself from direct counterattack. In addition to this, to add insult to injury, pundits on the right commend Obama for backing down in the end and doing the right thing. The memo’s are out, the photo’s are out, the Bush Administration is attacked, Obama is released of direct liability for, the left is charged up, the right is jabbed, Obama is supported for things the right want to support that mean nothing to him and help to cover up his true agenda…. In other words he gets exactly what he wants, is complimented by the right and stimulates the left.

It is true if you have been following along that the photo’s have not been released as of yet. I submit that they will be soon and if they end not being released I believe that it was the intent of the Obama administration to release them if possible without taking a political hit for doing so.

Is it so outrageous to think that a purposefully plan could be put in to play like this? If you were sitting in the conference advising the Obama and were inclined to play these games, couldn’t you think of this plan? I don’t think it is that complicated. Some may argue that the far left is duped a couple times in all this and would this not concern Obama? I think the end justifies the means and Obama would risk alienating the left. Besides the left didn’t roll off a turnip truck - they understand the game and are willing accomplices, they would gladly take the hit and stay in the game perceived to be the underdogs banking on the end game results.

Parting shot…. Obama and the progressive liberals are doing exactly what they want here. They ridicule the right, gain the system and get the political bounty in the end. The Liberals exercise Alinsky’s rules - by excessive ridicule and non stop propaganda, the issues are pushed through to their advantage. The conservative right should simply stop the debate at the memo’s and declare that to release them is absurd and anything further along those lines is treacherous.

The conservative right should HARSHLY ridicule the left and get very assertive if not aggressive with this position. Complimenting the President for changing his mind is absurd - the battle is already lost at that point.

Our only hope is that the Nancy Pelosi lie will blow this issue up and turn things around. As of today, this story is getting very interesting and we just have to wait and see where this is going.
