Conservativism - Closed Minds

To paraphrase Allan Bloom “A true open mind is closed to the charms that make us feel comfortable with the present’. Liberals pride themselves on having open minds yet nothing could be further from the truth. How can a person have a truely open mine if they don’t first close their mind to the built in biases that mold and shape the moment. You have to go in circles on this a few time before it sinks in. The natural inclination of the human spirit is to compartmentalize life in order to reign control over chaos. We are all susceptable to things that make us feel us good, unfortunately this usually means we arrive at conclusions based predominently on feelings. Liberal thinkers are prone to feeling based thinking and frequently fall to a false sense of open mindedness.
